Organizational, time management and other important study skills . are taught in the course. Grade checks are done each week and students are provided tutors, time and support to help them transition successfully to the rigors of high school. 9th graders will either be in the AVID class with Mr. Willson or will be in the study skills classes that meet each day in the library. Those freshmen in the study skills class with a g.p.a. of 3.8 or better at semseter, will be given the option to transfer out of the  study skills class into another elective of their choosing for the 2nd semester.

Hello Parents & Students in Study Skills class.

This is the fourth year that Study Skills has been offered to freshmen and students who need extra help and support with their academics.  Mrs. Debbie Flaming will be overseeing the classes.

As a parent you need to be able to log in and check your students grades weekly too. You can do this by visiting the Homedale School District website and clicking on the tab labeled "AXIS Portal". This will provide step by step instructions to setting this up for yourself. You will need an e-mail address since this is how you will receive your password.

The purpose of the Study Skills class is to help 9th graders with study skills and give them time to work on assignments for core classes. This week the focus will be on note-taking. We will be working through note-taking strategies that will help your student be more effective in taking notes and the importance of reviewing their notes to increase retention or remembering what they wrote down. To keep up with what is happening in the study skills class, this is a link to a webpage with information about the class.
